Melissa Allen discovered her passion for archaeology at just eight years old after watching adventure films like Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Mummy, and Tomb Raider. That early inspiration grew into a lifelong pursuit, leading her to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Archaeology and build a career as an archaeologist in San Diego. Driven by a desire to share her love of history and exploration with the next generation, Melissa founded Archofacts Archaeology for Kids. Through her program, she brings the excitement of archaeology to life by teaching classes in archaeology, history, social studies, and geography using real-world archaeological methods and hands-on, engaging activities. As a homeschooling mother of five, Melissa is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity and make education both memorable and fun. She is dedicated to inspiring students to see history not just as something to read about, but as something they can discover, explore, and experience for themselves. When she’s not teaching, Melissa enjoys homeschooling her children, exploring new places, and making lasting memories with her family.
